AMY BETH CLARK

Amy Beth Clark didn’t set out to be a lawyer. She earned a master’s degree in plant science and spent years teaching biology at the college level before deciding to go to law school — a background that still shows up in the methodical, evidence-driven way she builds a case. Since earning her JD from USC in 2002, she has represented consumers in state and federal courts across the state, first-chaired a mortgage fraud trial involving predatory lending and helped secure a multi-million dollar settlement in a TCPA class action against an autodialing sales operation. She’s spent time on both sides of the aisle, having represented creditors pursuing fraudster auto dealers in bankruptcy represented small businesses in contract disputes.   

Along the way, Amy built her own litigation and bankruptcy practice from a three cases in 2006 into a thriving firm, led the consumer team at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid supporting low-income families across Western and South Texas, and has become a go-to voice on issues like door-to-door sales fraud — testifying to local news stations, speaking at national conferences, and writing on topics ranging from foreclosure rescue scams to federal jury trials. 

Outside the courtroom, Amy is the mother of a blended family of four young adults and stays active in her Central Texas community, having served as a Precinct Chair and continuing to volunteer with local advocacy efforts and testify before the state legislature when it’s in session. When she’s not working, she’s usually got a mystery novel in hand, is in the pool for a swim or aquafit class, or is simply enjoying the absurdity of everyday life.
