Mary-Anne Churu is an Associate Attorney based in Dallas, Texas, Ms. Churu earned her Bachelor of Arts in Maritime Studies from Texas A&M University at Galveston and her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she focused her studies on environmental law and alternative dispute resolution.

Before joining the firm, she was criminal defense attorney in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, she developed a reputation for holding the State accountable through aggressive pre-trial advocacy, filing dispositive motions that resulted in case dismissals and ensuring her clients’ constitutional rights remained protected at every stage of the proceedings. She tried felony and misdemeanor cases before juries and handled speedy trial challenges, and negotiated favorable resolutions for her clients. That foundation in high-stakes, fast-paced litigation sharpened her instincts for identifying weaknesses in an opposing party’s position, a skill she brings to every case she handles today.

Ms. Churu also served as in-house counsel and a member of the executive leadership team for a healthcare organization, where she was responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across all verticals of the parent company. She evaluated business operations against the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Stark Referral Law, advised executives on risk and strategy, and drafted and negotiated contracts governing nationwide business relationships. Her time in the corporate environment gave her an understanding of how businesses operate, how deals are structured, and where liability hides, a perspective that strengthens her ability to advocate for clients navigating complex civil disputes.
