Criminal Defense, Moster Craft

Who We Are:

At Moster Craft, we are Criminal Defense attorneys who zealously represent clients charged with serious criminal offenses including Drug Charges, DWI/DUI, Domestic Violence, and Assault cases. These offenses can result in substantial prison time and require experienced and compassionate counsel.

Our Criminal Law Practice is headed by Jacques A. Roussel, who worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York. This is one of the most active and prestigious district attorney offices in the United States. Mr. Roussel handled hundreds of cases and trials as a prosecutor and understands the best strategies and defenses to protect our clients. In our opinion, many of the best criminal defense attorneys in Texas and across the country started their careers as prosecutors. They know how the game is played and have the enormous benefit of being on the other side.

What We Do:

DWI – Driving While Intoxicated

The legal definition in Texas is anyone driving with a BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) of .08% or higher. Courts no longer show leniency in these cases given public attention and the criminal consequences can be severe. Sentences can be lengthy and up to ten years in prison in some cases with fines up to $10,000.00. Depending on the court and jurisdiction, it is not unusual for alleged offenders to be denied bail or required to pay exorbitant amounts.

If you are arrested for DWI, reach out to us. It may be the most important call you ever make.

Drug Offenses – State and Federal Crimes

Drug offenses are among the most serious crimes and offenses and can result in lengthy prison sentences and fines at both the State and Federal levels. The crimes are varied and include illegal possession of controlled substances, manufacturing drugs or the intent to distribute, and a host of other violations. Prosecutors aggressively pursue these cases and often seek the most severe penalties.

If you are arrested for a drug offense, keep in mind that the law presumes you are innocent until proven guilty. Of course, that never seems to be the case in the real world, and sadly, the outcome turns on the experience and sophistication of your defense attorney. Not all defense attorneys are created equal – and you need to arm yourself with the most experienced and dedicated professionals.

If you are arrested for a drug offense, reach out to us. It may be the most important call you ever make.

Domestic Violence & Assault Cases

Apart from facing jail time and fines, a conviction for domestic violence and assault could destroy your professional career and reputation. These cases can be technical and require a thorough knowledge of the law, facts, evidence, and defenses. Critically, in our view, prior experience with a District Attorneys’ Office can provide an added advantage to your defense team.
In Texas, an assault charge can be filed as a misdemeanor or a felony if a weapon, serious bodily injury, or strangulation is involved. Critically, physical harm is not required to justify an arrest. The mere threat to cause someone injury constitutes a criminal offense in Texas.

Domestic Violence can arise from a basic misdemeanor for the assault up to a felony in cases where physical violence, strangulation, and choking are involved. The “Domestic” nature of the crime does not reduce the severity of the sentence which can be up to ten years in certain cases.

If you are arrested for assault or domestic violence, reach out to us. It may be the most important call you ever make.

White Collar

Most so-called “white-collar” crimes are non-violent and involve financial or business violations of law – state or federal. Typical cases include criminal fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, insider trading, price-fixing, and health care fraud.

Do not let the “white-collar” label minimize your perception that these crimes are not aggressively prosecuted for will result in less jail time or fines than the typical violent offenses. That is false. If not defended properly by experienced counsel, the consequences can be severe. You do not want to make a mistake when hiring counsel.

If you are charged with a white-collar crime, reach out to us. It may be the most important call you ever make.
